And in case you forgot, Microsoft got ticked off that OS/2 was taking so long to develop they dropped out of their partnership with IBM and tossed out Windows so they could show an actual product.

As far OS/2 being "poorly marketed" (as you seem to think it was) this was because it wasn't finished and Microsoft had released Windows 1/2 and a bit later 3 in fairly short order and captured the market before IBM had even got OS/2 released to market.
