Backport?
Where is this "backports" repository of which you speak?

While Redhat does backport updates and security fixes, they unlike debian do not have a "backports" repository. All updates will just be posted to the "updates" repository for base packages and the "extra" repository for "extras".

Not 3rd parties will backport specific applications to earlier versions and create a repository for those but you won't need those for a yum upgrade from FC4 to FC5.
