It may alos connect to your wireless network at home and send information over the internet to whomever is controlling the chip. If you don't think this will happen you have not been watching the news over the last decade or you are one that could benifit from the data collected.
Simply don't use it. Data has always been abused and always will. Do you use a Ralphs card when purchasing your groceries? Then you are tracked. If you don't mind this tracking that is your right. If you are like many people who don't like to be tracked then you should have the option not to be. If you don't care about your personal rights that is your choice but if you do then you should be able to not be tracked.
I would gladly pay the extra 25 cents per item that the store would be saving just to not have to deal with RFID. The only savings is to the corporation. If you think that we would ever see savings as customers you are fooling yourself.
