How about...
...giving consumers the OPTION to detach and destroy the RFID tag. Like I noted in my RFID article, I think there are some really interesting applications which can be built around RFID tagging in the home. I have no problem with people opting out of that, but what if you want to opt in to it?

Knowing the literal manner in which American laws are applied, if the law MANDATES removing the tag, they won't let me leave the store with the tags attached. It's MY privacy. Give me the OPTION to remove the tag, don't mandate it.
