It's not that they are not believed
What are the reasons it crashes for you? I don't think all is sweetness and light in ANY land. But my experience is similar. We've simply not had any OS reinstalls since win95. Seems like something from the "old" days now. We are small....300 desktops and a mix of 40 NT, 2000 and 2003 servers. No problems with the servers either. The disk arrays are biggest problem in the CR. Windows actually runs as good as our previous unix boxes. Will run long periods w/o reboots. Personal experience with XP has been positive with no issues and that is just my experience, not a claim xp is perfect. What are some of the annoyances in the book? Never read it. Any of them crash related....i would think that is beyond an annoyance. I don't like many things about the way XP handles certain things. I want the object I'm working with to retain focus unless absolutely necessary to give it to another...that is a big one for me but I can live with it. I do my best to make my programs respective of it.
One you start putting apps on any system, linux, apple, windows, problems with happen. I've never seen any OS crash out of the box unless the harddrive had been somehow trashed or partially affected by something.
