And I remember when IBM and MS were good buddies.
My, how times change.

Always about rivalty; tearing things apart. Tearing people apart. Not about building anything together; working together; keeping a relationship that is profitable but helps others at the same time; instead of exploiting them then discarding them like anything else disposable.

Seems I was born late into this world. And there are days when abortion seems more humane.

On the plus side, without Microsoft's boasting of clustering (which takes 20 servers into a slightly more powerful one), IBM wouldn't have modified their AS/400 product line for clustering and take 20 great machines into a massively bigger one.

Beware the pains of monopoly. When you run out of competition, you stagnate. Case in point is IE; it's way behind in technology compatibility - right down to the basics such as CSS...

Of course, a monopoly based on money - which means the moment the balance is lost, the winner uses his money to to ensure his victory - at the stagnation of others. A state of decay. And that's the trouble society faces.
