That's different from other vendors?
Every day companies risk their future on enterprise applications developed by vendors who lie about their products and hide weaknesses until the implementation turns into a gigantic nightmare. The difference is it is the company that figures out the vendors are lying, not school kids.

Just because Window's flaws are the most public does not mean that MS is less forthcoming with information. The truth is MS is at least as good, and usually better, than other vendors at getting reliable information to their clients. They aren't perfect, but I've never had one of their reps sell my clients total vaporware. I've seen that happen with several other "enterprise application" vendors.

The general public doesn't deal with ERP, WMS, CRM, trade and other vendor applications. They don't see the unbelievable and shameless hype these vendors spout to sell their products. They don't see the huge consulting fees paid to the vendor to fix their own product. They don't see the millions companies spend before figuring out they were duped by the vendor. In my job, I see this happen way too oftern. I can tell you MS is actually a little better than most vendors in terms of product representation.

That is not to say MS application servers are acually the better choice. In terms of features and function they generally aren't. They can be easier to support, but they rarely are the "best of breed".

My point is regardless of their product quality or fit for a company, MS is better at getting information to their clients than most vendors. So if your point is you won't use MS because you think their OS is too unstable, I'll buy that. However, if your point is MS misrepresents their products worse than other enterprise vendors, based on my experience that is incorrect.
