Microsoft is changing direction ( as always)? My experience with IBM is a tad dated but.
IBM has offered products and service where 24/7 operation was expected, Microsoft's output was geared to ease of use and target price. Unless Microsoft starts to offer a EULA that offers more than a restriction of use, such as a warrantee of servicability, a don't forsee the Fortune 10,000 signing on. Sure the receptionist can use Microsoft, but to get to the 'real numbers' Microsoft will have to ante up to play the game. Their recent decision to do fixes once a month, doesn't impress me as having a 'quality over pretty' mindset.
Does Vista support the full Unicode standard for characters? Or is it like XP, i.e. we liked the first two chapters so we took the name, but then it got tedious to read so we ignored the rest of the standard. Which is how they treated Java, 'ours is faster,' of course we did this by cutting out the slow parts of the implementation.
Yes I am running Dell vacuum cleaners at home, that won't support ECC memory, where a UPS is an clutz addition. None of those machines will ever see my accounting, though they show great TV.
