Get over jesus
When the heck is this stale anti MS thing thats been spouting about since the early 80's gonna end.

How many times have we had to hear words like vaporware, its all marketing and all this other mess. In the 1980's do you think the big iron like IBM, DEC, HP, SUN or shall I mention Novell even considered Microsoft anything but a little maker of toy like PC software? They could have cared less.

Everything in the big iron mantra was lowest common denominator with simple stability and security, BUT without the hindsight to think applications could be far more robust and intuitive than anything offered at the time. The fact is that from its conception MS has been pushing for the modernization of applications both in the household AND in business. Did they innovate everything? No. Did they vasty improve on existing technologies and push their OS forward. Yes. Have their competitiors done so? some yes, most no.

Years later folks wonder how MS became so big, how they've come to control so much. We have all sorts of open source this and that and the big push for Linux (essentially the Unix worlds attempt at catchup on the OS side). It isnt MS marketing alone that got them to where they are, a lot of it was due to their competions dogmatism and lack of hindsight to see beyond command utilities and green screens. Ask Novell why Windows NT eventually killed Netware? Do you think windows NT killed Netware simply because of marketing, especially when netware was so dominant at the time? It wasnt like MS was giving windows NT out for free.

I probaly wont need Office 12, but I will get Vista. Will IE7 be a good browser. You bet. Will Firefox continue to improve. Im sure it will. Do I blame everything on MS and marketing. No, because thats an old, stale, weak, lame argument.
