It's Curious, but IBM must know something we don't.
If they were worried they could use BSD UNIX
or an updated version of AIX . Linux is a fast
easy fix and other OSes could be lacking
some of the tools they need which would need
to be rewritten. The real interesting solution
would be to use a 64 bit version of Darwin and
let Apple write them a bastardized version of
OSX Server . Of course it would be an
expense, but it could also recouped by
controlling the price of G5s. BSD based OSes
are more secure than either Linux or
Windows.
