As was Unix
IN the right place at the right time in the 1960s. That is why they still own the internet backbone. But that is old technology. And linux is the same stuff. There is only so much you can do with c/c++. The app side of things will prove to be much different. I think everyone is fooled right now. It's not application software that is the commodity, it's the OS software. Either is equally reliable today. I think MS might just surprise everyone with web 2.0. I think they were right to be cautious. Google still depends on ad revenue almost entirely. People are going to weary of that soon enough. MS is going to take that space away from them anyway.
I think Google is not legit. How can you redirect an internet search and call yourself ethical at the same time? They are doing nothing but helping a communist country keep people in the dark about the reality of their own suffering. That is sad. Ol' Billy and Stevo haven't stooped that low yet, have they? wink
