Abramoff and Microsoft
Well I finally got a copy of Vanity Fair with the Jack Abramoff article. It is well known that Abramoff's carrer in lobbying was developed first at Preston, Gates and Ellis, a firm founded by Microsoft's cofounder's dad, Gate's Sr, to help Microsoft with its permatemp and antitrust problems.

Abramoff, on page 246 of the article, stated that he believed his down fall began with "competing lobbiests" who coveted his clientele.

That clientele would be the same he took with him when he left Preston Gates and Ellis. He also took two Microsoft consultants to his new firm hense likely agrevating Preston Gates and Ellis's most important customer - Microsoft.

It seems appropriate to conclude that Preston, Gates, and Ellis decided to screw Abramoff for leaving the firm and taking with him "trade secrets" in influence peddling as well as his team. More research is necessary but there is a connection to the Mob.

Read the article and remember that Abramoff is fundamentally a local boy to Seattle. The Washington Post, where damaging information was first fed about him, has on its board of directors, Mallinda Gates.

The current management of Microsoft needs to go. Bringing back the principle founder of the company Paul Allen, would do much to save the company.
