Google traffic delivery at 70%
As a consultant for web companies I analyze web site traffic statistics to determine where visitors to those sites come from. In a wide comparison test across a dozen clients we discovered that over 70% of referred traffic comes from Google or their partners. Clearly Yahoo was a part of that mix before and will skew the numbers of that previous test now. The point here is that - even though only 39% of searches are done at Google, their results deliver visitors at almost double that rate. Why would it be that 30% of searches done at MSN and Yahoo send only an average of less than 10% of traffic each to those web sites? Webmasters care more about delivered traffic than where a search is originally done. Right now Google delivers over 70% of referred search engine traffic! If the "New" Yahoo delivers traffic to web sites, then webmasters will love it as much as Google. Webmasters don't care where the public likes to search, they care about who delivers search traffic to their own sites.
