if MS just included the apps and not integrated them that would be ok?

I hope the instructions are very clear about downloading a new browser before deleting the installed one. Could be tricky otherwise

Then people would have a choice. You could remove IE,WMP,Outlook, as well as the security risks they pose. Those that chose to keep them would be happy, just as those that wanted to remove them would. Microsoft refuses to do that, why? Because they'd have to spend money, to get users to use their apps. Development on IE stopped years ago, as it's the only browser I know of without tabbed browsing. WMP is chock full of spyware, it reports all the files you play on it back to MS. Why does a copuiter that runs automated equipment need MSMessenger? MS has been hell-bent on eliminating choice, no matter what it takes. They will even over-ride end user choice when they can.
