Every extra little add on to the OS is something you pay for reguardless of wether it's welded to the OS or not.

Would you buy a car where you couldn't swap out the Stereo system? I wouldn't even I never intend to swap it out.

That's the problem with Microsoft's methods. I have nothing against WMP and I find it works the best right now for me but that doesn't mean I want it welded into the OS. I know from experience that what I like today is not always what I like tomorow.

For example. I really liked IE a few years ago and used it exclusively. Now I like Mozilla and use it exclusively. But I'm stuck with IE taking up valuable resources on the start up. I want it gone but tough luck for me.
