You better thank those unions for your lunch break, leave and insurance benefits, and overtime!

Having said that, Sen. Dodd's bill is to protect government positions from outsourcing as that option is now on the table. I am in a government employees' union and we do not force anyone to join. Nor do we take dues from all who work in our shops. If you pay dues, you are a member and reap the benefits. If you do not pay dues, you still reap the benefits of the negotiations by people like me.

We have a saying in my Local: "Managment is damned happy we're around because **** rolls uphill." We fight for the benefits, they get the benefits, too.
