Next Up! High Impact / High Creativity
I've read that next up for American workers is what's called 'high impact' and 'high creativity' jobs. Huh? Sounds pretty nebulous to me. Not to mention that it may involve a lot of right brain activity, something I'm sorely lacking.

Time will tell as to how many white collar jobs move off shore, but it is a crock to suggest that some additional legislation can't help protect some jobs.

Try real enforcement of the H-1B visa program. If I'm not mistaken under the program, IBM and all of it's offshoring consulting cronies are supposed to show that no American worker is has the available skills for the job. Does anyone really think their fulfilling this oblegation?

How about try telling Bush to get a clue that his proposed newly touted Guest Visa program is a horrible idea, if for any other reason it legitimizes and makes illegal immigration legal, not to mention that he wants to make available high-paying skilled jobs part of the open door policy.

Add to that all the loop holes in our tax code that allows banks like Wachovia to sell tax shelters like LILO (lease in / lease out) scheems where no real business transaction is occurring. For example as seen on Frontline last night, why did Wachovia front a LILO transaction with a small German town who leased out and then back their entire sewer piping system for a $20 million fee? So a rich corporate bank like Wachovia can end up paying "NO TAX" even though they had billions of dollars in profits.

A graduated flat tax is what we need, plus a little common sense on the part of our 'elected' leaders. This is a win-win. It takes 99% of the guess the guesswork out and a ton of layers and tax accountants get to stand in the unimployment line!

How about this. Over the last 10 years or so, corporate America's share of total collected taxes has dropped from 17% to 7%, leaving middle class America to pick up the tab. Is there any wonder we ran a $379 billion deficit last year with crap like this going on?
