Lindows is pretty good
In that group there are others, Lycoris, Xandros, etc

It is not my personal choice, but I have used it, and would recommend it to some that would want the extra service and support they provide. Especially if they are looking for an alternative to Windows.

Gentoo is great if you like source based distros.

Knoppix (and the like) I think are the best for giving people a taste.

It is kinda odd how some complain about the difficulty of Linux, Then when someone comes up with a easy to use (newbie) distro they complain that it is a cheap knock off. CNR is a fancy form of apt-get, that not only allows you easy access to the free stuff but also a lot of proprietary apps at a discount.

You do know if you out grow it, you can with a couple of commands covert it completely to Debian.

So for some it may be a great fit. For others there are dozens of distros to choose from, It's all good.
