KDE has too many bells and whistles
for the average home user
So does windows for that matter
Gnome is simple
I am pretty happy with Ubuntu and their Gnome desktop
I have installed it on several computers and it has
worked flawlessly on every one of them
It doesn't offer all of the confusion or clutter of kde
