This is ridiculous, why do these two desktop managers compete? They should be merged! KDE seems better to me and as a programmer also I found better the idea of using C++ instead of C (GNOME)

Win3.1 did not need any vital admin tool, the intention of that OS was not too tied to networking anyway, right? Win95/98 I guess MS did not put intentionally too much effort in those OSs regarding admin tools since it already had Windows NT/2000

I am not familiar with what you say. In what way is Vista borrowing from Unix? You may be right but I am curious. What is for sure is that even if it does, it is not copying anything from Linux since it is itself a copy of UNIX!
