These desktop systems, not servers, but DESKTOP systems run 24/7

AMD Athlon 1800 ? 512MBDDR RAM ? Uptime = 196 Days
Pentium IV 2.4GHz ? 512MBDDR RAM ? Uptime = Not measurable due to mobile status...
AMD Duron 1.2GHz ? 512MBDDR RAM ? 205 Days
AMD Duron 700MHz ? 256MB PC-133 SDRAM ? 202 Days
AMD 300MHz ? 256MB PC-100 SDRAM ? 122 Days
AMD 233MHz ? 128MB PC-66 RAM ? 303 Days

Again these are systems that are used as Desktops. I think the longest I was able to run a Windows 2000 desktop was 96 days before I had to reboot for a security patch. All those systems by the way are also patched and up to date.

On a side note, the AMD 233MHz, ran for 3 years straight on Mandrake 6.5, before I decided to upgrade to a newer Linux OS. It was on a cable modem and never hacked, cracked or infected with a virus, I never rebooted after patching (not required unless it's kernel level) and it was my main system for the majority of that time.

So there is my addendum to my point.
