SAP vs Opensource
We're the small/mid business market that SAP is now somewhat targeting. We're 6 months into a deployment and most of us are mystified how larger companies have remained in business.

Some things I can the reason for, especially at large companies, but most user interfaces are deplorable. Programming is ABAP has all the allure and coolness of COBOL, with pretty much the same feature set.

Vendor partners (of which a small army is required) don't have anywhere near the reliability or extensibility I would expect of an enterprise market (but all the cost).

I see complacency where none is warranted. SAP has inertia, but if that's their only asset, it won't last.
