SAP: Open-source rivals won't make the cut

I have used SAP. They should fear OS alternatives.

I have used their products. What did I experience? They are too expensive, operate counter-intuitively, and are unsuitable for our purposes. Oracle's offering wasn't much better. We're a Peoplesoft shop for now, until Oracle guts the product line. When they do, our management has mandated a "close scrutiny and evaluation of open source alternatives". That sounds to me like OS is making inroads into areas traditionally help by over-priced, under-performing, software mega-corps like SAP.

By denying it's happening, SAP is denying itself a chance to respond to it before it is too late.

It's their loss. I, as a past customer, won't be sad to see them go bankrupt.
