If it "phones home", yes.
But, if it stored locally and didn't do anything but store your search preferences and actually assist you in searches in other ways it would probably be OK.

However, I think the urge to gather marketing data is too strong for any of the search companies to resist and they'll try to find ways to spy, obvious and not-so-obvious.
