You are distorting the truth
There are a substantial number of beta testers for some Microsoft products who pay for the privilege. There are also attends the thousands of people like me who do beta testing and don't pay a cent for the opportunity. In my case, I started with a Microsoft Word maintenance release, joined the Windows 95 beta test cadre, and I've been putting stuff through the wringer ever since. There have been times when UPS or Airborne drivers were delivering new beta build CDs to me every week. And, as I said, I've never had to pay so much as a penny for anything involved with a beta test.

Message created using ScanSoft Dragon NaturallySpeaking? Professional 7.0 and/or ParaGraph PenOffice? 2.5 CalliGrapher? handwriting recognition software. Please excuse any unintentional errors. I never make errors, so any you find are obviously the fault of Dragon or CalliGrapher?. But not me. Really. Trust me?I wouldn't lie to you as far as you know.
