"technically"?
technically no m$ wares go beyond beta stage...

Being in the software development industry myself, I'm curious what you think "technically" defines a beta?

ther software manufacturer's final release products don't have the literally thousands of bugs that windows have.

Yes they do.

m$ should do something about quality control,

Your statement above shows that you don't really know enough to make that call. Known bugs are a SMALL fraction of existing bugs. Take a look at the bug list for a released version of Linux. I haven't personally looked, but I'm sure there are THOUSANDS of known bugs that were knowingly shipped. If there aren't, that just points to the low quality of the testers working on the product.

If they fix all the bugs they find, that means not only do they have REALLY poor testers that don't find the regressions, but they have poor project managers and developers that allow changes to code that should never happen.

Personally, my money is on the Linux people doing it right any you knowing nothing about what you're talking about.

Anyway, if you take nothing else away from this, remember that known bugs are a SMALL fraction of existing bugs.

and not raise their revenue expectations until they have a secure & stable product

Ummm, what? Revenue expectations are based on expected sales, which are based on the product in the market. Secure or stable doesn't enter into it, they have to forcast based on the product regardless.
