Ummm I shot this problem down a while back
I don't use AOL and my point is I chose to turn the service off a while back. Do I agree with AOL yes and no. On the one hand I disagree because this computer has a name "MY." My what? you ask. "MY COMPUTER" and I do not want anyone changing anything without my knowledge.

On the other hand there are millions of AOL users who have no idea what Windows Messaging is and why they were suddenly getting these pop-ups. I'd almost bet AOL was getting big time complaints from a bunch of grannys and gramps about the sudden pop-ups. So rather than spend time explaining how to shut off the service they took action.

Not good though because if this is not challenged then what is to stop any service provider from just willy nilly changinging my settings?
