But the bigger issue...
is that MS knows that this (aparrently fairly useless) feature can be exploited yet they continue to leave it on by default.

If it's a feature that is only used by business, who likely have sys admins that can determine whether this should be on or off, then why is it on by default?

Simply bone-headed.
