Think Beyond the MS Mentality
For updates, you can still update your applications running on Redhat by going to the website of the application and downloading the update. You could do a full install of that app instead of the sloppy system of patching like in Windows since new releases are available quite frequently. You're not locked into a vendor like you are with MS.
