A broken record...
"Just imagine that you have to do reinstalls 3 times a year
for about 100-200 PCs throughout your entire company"

As addressed you don't have to. Even if you choose to stick
with Fedora Core 1, the Fedora Legacy Project will provide
support for current + 3 releases (approx 1.5 years).

"...but what if you need to deploy an application that runs
only on, say, Core2 but not Core1"

If you need to deploy an application requiring the features
of a later technology (eg kernel 2.6, KDE 3.2, gcc 3.3 etc)
then what is the difference with Fedora or any other OS?

Where demand for a particular technology exists the
community, or yourself, has the opportunity to make that
available in previous versions.

"Not very enterprise/business friendly I must say."

I don't see your points at all. You make up scenarios, then
use these examples to prove your point.

JWatson77 writes it was a bad move to the Fedora
distribution. I asked why? JWatson77 then wrote Fedora is
not suitable for businesses. I asked why? in-DUH-vidual
writes because it is expense to update hundreds of Linux
desktops 3 times a year. This was never the case and was
addressed in my original post!

If I had 100-200 PCs I'd certainly look to some of the
community based projects, like Fedora or Debian, for the
base of an extremely cost-effective solution. Hosting your
own Fedora yum repository for your own managed release
of packages and updates would appeal greatly to this sized
company, particularly in an environment where you control
everything (notably hardware).

Fedora is not everything to everyone. But it is a good
distribution with many attractive features. It should not be
dismissed as an experimental distribution for enthusiasts.
