The thing I dont get is
#1 the 2.6 kernel is still experimental? Im running 2.6.3 right now, 2.6.0 has been stable for months.

#2 why the need for so many releases? I thought that the benefit of linux was its modularity. The system I am typing this on is almost 2 years old and everything is as current and up to date as my new 2 month old install on my desktop. Why dont they just make it a smooth transition via up2date?
