file swapping and the music industry, my views
i think that overall the record industry is only going to hurt its own sales, my personal view is that they charge far too much for cd's and pay artists far to little (i live in uk btw), i have downloaded some music from the internet in the past and it tedns to fall into 2 catagories, the first being stuff i cant find in any shops and the second being stuff id like to hear to see if ill enjoy it enough to make it worth buying, i only buy cd's in sure ill be playing again and again so if im unsure about one ill either try to borrow it off a friend or find it online so i can see what its like first, if i cant listne to the cd witohut purchasing it i simple dont bother, ive seen some companies offers samples of the music on thier sites so you cna efectivly try the music first but this system falls down in a rather key way to my mind, the sample on the site wont necessarily be a fair example of the cd in question, but will instad be the portion of the cd they felt woudl encourage the greatest numbers to purchase it, the onyl way to get a godo idea bout the cd is to listne to it, so if i cant listne then a potential sale is lost, if i like sometning ill buy it, if i dont i dont i just deleate the file (if i got it off the net)

ps re typos, im slightly dyslexic so tend to miss some of my mistakes, in addition because i can never get rid of tmhe all im usually way too lazy to bother checking so ther can be quite a few
