Open Source (yeah, right)
unfortunately, there are a lot of companies that proclaim "that open source is the future and advocate it" except when it comes from the software they create and are in control of.

remember that this is all about on thing -- money (ok, two things: the money leads to control). Sun, IBM, Novell, Microsoft, etc. want to get you trapped into their particular software so that their income stream continues year after year.

this guy needs to write to IBM and ask them to put DB2, WebSphere and all there other software into open source (which he'll get a similar reply as he did from Sun). And he will get a similar reply from Novell.
