Are you a total fool?
'Cool points'. The only thing cool about Sun is their frigid stock price and the draft blowing through their vacant offices. Microsoft has cleaned them out by delivering highly secure and robust code that makes Solaris look like a dinosaur. I did a demo in our ENTERPRISE data center for some fellow-CIO's who use Solaris. After showing them SMS 2003 and SQL Server 2000, they were in such shock that they just started laughing uncontrollably. They could not contain themselves. The more I discussed how we ditched Oracle and UNIX years ago, the more they laughed. My rep and I realized they were insane with jealousy and felt bad for them.
