Mike Cox? Come on tic, you know better!
You haven't seen anyone on ZDNet excited about Vista at all? Have we been reading the same Mike Cox, Loverock and No Ax posts?

I know you didn't just bring up Mike Cox in your defense! And I'm still 100% convinced that Loverock is a different type of Mike Cox: the enemy (Windows) of my (BSD) enemy (Linux) is my friend so again, any excitement in his posts is more to draw the ire of Linux zealots than real support for Vista. Finally, I have yet to see No Ax get excited about the graphical enhancements to Vista. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I've seen him be all that excited about Vista at all but I'm prepared to be wrong on that one.

So no Tic, I don't think there is that much real excitement about Vista in the ZDNet talkbacks and certainly not about the new GUI features. The only real "innovation" (I use the term sarcastically) is that Vista might just be the first Windows OS that is reasonably secure out of the box. I'm excited about this only because this is a huge thing for the masses of Windows users who don't know that they should take 30 seconds to remove themselves from the Administrators group and that having a blank Administrator password is simply not acceptable.
