Linus is wrong
DRM is software - and runs at the software "layer". Everything Linus does with the Linux kernel runs at the system "layer". Since these are mutually exclusive (no intersection for you "new" math fans), Linus should CARE LESS about the DRM stuff in GPL3. Why he come out so strongly against it is beyond me. I doubt that he would allow kernel hooks for DRM under ANY circumstances.
