One floppy?
The Linux kernel source does NOT fit on one floppy! Even Linux 1.0 was 4.5 MB which would hardly fit on a floppy.

Depending on what they factor in for these *estimates* of 40 GB, I'd say it's entirely possible that given W2K for all platforms, i386, alpha, ppc (yes, I heard from a source who's seen the code that there are references to ppc), with all the add-ons (admin packs etc.) that this could well swell to a humongus size.
