why NONE of the former owners of Unixware have come to SCO's defense
There could be many reasons for this. First they may be contractually obligated to keep their mouths shut depending on how they left and if SCO is still paying them. There are many companies that offer severance, but require contracts. Some contracts could be for many years. I'm sure they have something in place to prevent trade secrets from leaving SCO.

Another reason is they may be under a "gag" order because they are being subpoenaed. If they have any information, SCO would not want it public. Not because it could fly in their face, per say. But because SCO is holding their cards close to their chest and do not want to expose their case until it goes to court. This would be the exact thing I would do in this situation (guilty or not).
