Microsoft snags XML-related patent

One thing you can count on...: "David Kaefer, director of business development at Microsoft, has said the company will license XML-related innovations it patents with a mix of paid and royalty-free licenses, as it has done with other technologies."

As I noted in another post, the one group that will NOT be able to use this is open source. MS will indeed license this patent, (to for-profit developers) probably for next to nothing and even include the license with many of it's products.
