- Unix venders can survive in a Linux world, MS can not.
- Unix venders sell mainly hardware and services. OS profits are nothing for them. They would love to dump their Unix and swith to Linux. Microsoft on the other hand, makes only money on software, and it is all in-compatible with everybody else.
