Yeah, that's still a pain.: These days, I can play just about any windows media file through xine, gxine, or kaffeine plugins, and they'll work about half the time for quicktime movies. The other half, I have to download manually and then watch them. They players work fine on files stored locally, but they're not quite perfect yet for the web.
