Well sitting here in the dark and half corked even I can figure this one out! Thinking back to MS Photo MS Draw MS Reader et al not to mention ME (which however I kinda liked and wish was still available) I'm starting to believe MS churns out crap like this every once and awhile just to try to show the masses that they aren't perfect and all-encompasing as the anti trust lawyers are trying to prove. So its costs them a few million dollars to produce a few programs that are doomed to fail from the start its still cheaper that the 2 mil a day they are getting hit with in fines.Think about it all Windows is is a USER Interface ! Could we live with out it ? Yes and NO! the average daily user relies upon it to make thier computing experience quick easy and enjoyable leading to the investments in to better hardware and software et al when new versions come out However a power user or programmer really has no use for it but must develop tools for their programs to run in windows if they wish to sell to the masses. However for MS to think printshops and graphic designers are going to switch now is just a little obsurd. They may however sell to the few shall I say backyarders (sorry I'm a mechanic) and hobbyists if the price point is half decent compared to the competion who doesn't need a $1200 program to clean up pictures and make post cards and the like. I'm hoping they give up on trying to sell it and include it in Service Pack 2 of MS Vista however because its got to be better than MS Paint . Thanks for listening.
