I *hate* "vertical" markets
A "vertical" market is one where there is almost no competition, and they can get away with charging ridiculous prices - you know you're looking at software designed for a "vertical" market when the software costs more than a computer.

"Vertica" markets are anti-competitive and monopolistic - so I try to avoid them as much as possible. No way I'm ever going to support those monopolies. Can't afford to buy their software anyways.
