I was hoping for that too.
Open standards are the only thing that will level the playing ground in the PC arena. OpenDoc could very well break the stanglehold that MS has on documents. All we need is for everybody to support it and for companies/governments/customers to demand it. Imagine being able to pick the word processor you want without having to worry about compatibility...
