We'll see shortly what kind of uptake there really is (or isn't) for hosted apps. I personally doubt the hype for this so-called "tectonic shift".

Bah humbug! People will still want to have a package they can run while not online. And corps will still want/need control. Period. Sure, hosted apps will provide some valuable utilities, but nothing that a corporation would deem "mission critical".
