Clunky Notes?
Last I checked, my Notes client was far from clunky. Infact, it was quite fluid and very task oriented.

The amount of agents I have setup on it would make a outlook user cry out for having to work so hard.

We run 6.5 here and have very few problems. I don't see an outlook client that can keep up with Notes.
