So what if the DOJ denies them, aquire anyway
If the DOJ tries to stop them, all they need to do is admit they are a monopoly with the aquisition and hold Microsoft up as an example of the DOJ allowing monopolies to exist. They should but the DOJ on the defense by forcing them to state why they would let Microsoft exist as a monopoly but not let others into the race. They could actually charge the DOJ with keeping monopolies in play by not letting equal scale competition. I would turn around and sue toe DOJ for $20 billion as anti-competative and spend money on TV ads stating how the DOJ (naming names) isn't out for fair business. Perhaps even throw in something about outsourcing and let the backlash from the voters speak. Afterall, this is an election year. perfect opportunity to do something like this.
