A cable company running a theme park? Imagine:
You wait in line for hours to get on a ride, and when you finally make it to the front, you're not allowed on the ride. Instead, you get a ticket and are told "You'll be able to get on this ride between 2 and 6 pm tomorrow, so please be available during that time."
So, you wait in line the next day from 2 until 6, but by 8 PM you have yet to get on the ride. You call Customer (dis)Service to complain, and they tell you that they weren't able to make it to the ride today (it's been closed all day, with no signs or other notification). They say you should be able to get on sometime between 7AM and 1:45PM on Friday, so be around that whole time.
On to Friday, where you've waited all day, since dawn, and finally make it to the ride at 4PM. You then find it's out of order, with no known re-open date/time ("We are aware of the problem, and will have service available as soon as possible").
BTW, I borrowed this analogy from Glenn Beck, but it seems highly appropriate, doesn't it? - Posted by: doctormoriarty Posted on: 02/11/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
