I just don't know if I agree with their DRM stance
I do believe in that users should have freedoms with regards to the programs that they use. They should be able to do whatever they want with that. But data is very different. Data, much more often than not, is something that should only be seen by a select group of people (or a single person). There SHOULD be optional controls that the creator of a file can put on to prevent its being seen by unfriendly eyes. By stating that DRM is discouraged, the GPLv3 is in fact saying that they are taking away my right to do something with a program that I need. And that goes completely against the philosophy that I bought into.

DRM in and of itself is a very good thing. However DRM has earned a bad reputation because of the unfair (and sometimes illegal, e.g. Sony) limitations the copyright holders have placed on the data, even for those who have purchased the rights to use it. But banning all DRM simply because some abuse it is not the right approach. Since those who abuse it do so because they think it will earn them more money, the way to beat it is to give them NO money. Refuse to do business with them until their terms are acceptable.

And for those who think the terms won't be acceptable until the RIAA/MPAA allow free P2P sharing: You guys are the ones who created this problem, so knock it off.
