Gender specific male pronoun okay?
It seems that using gender-specific (male) pronouns is okay when referring to virus writers. Why are we all so silent when "spokespersons" refer to an unknown virus author as "he" but raise holy hell if they refer to an unspecified committee leader as "chairman"? Maybe we all agree, completely without sexism of course, that women are too moral to write a virus. Or could it be that we have taken a look at the programmer employment stats and agree that women just aren't smart enough to write a virus?
